15 years ago my husband and I moved from the East Coast to the Willamette Valley in Oregon. As an artist and mother, my original intention was to raise our daughters and continue painting. However, it didn't take long for me as a lifelong gardener to fall in love with this unique Pacific Northwest climate. What began as just a love affair with Oregon and gardening, blossomed into Tiger Lily Art Company, a farmer-florist studio located in Eugene, Oregon.
While my training is in ceramics and painting, I found a path to combine my love of art with my passion for growing things. Each floral arrangement is an opportunity to work with color, composition, form, and texture in delicate balance with the ephemeral nature of flowers. I view my work as a farmer and flower designer as both a pleasure and a responsibility. I believe strongly in the value of employing sustainable farming practices and I specialize in growing both old fashioned beauties and colorful, unusual new varieties each season.
The pleasure that I get seeing the faces of people whom I deliver my flowers to is such a gift. Whether it's for one of my weekly clients, a wedding, someone in a retirement home who can no longer garden, an event for a local business or a CSA member, I feel immensely grateful for the opportunity to be a flower farmer in Eugene.
